Quintessence - premium barrels made in France

World Cooperage (Missouri) has provided in France a new cooperage which produces exclusively premium-barriques from French and American oak. In these barrels wines of the highest category should mature and are developed.

To come up to these high requirements the following points are important:

Wood: the wood comes only from the best forest regions of France like the Vosges Mountains, the Argonne and the Centre France (Allier, Nevers, Tronçais, Limousin …). The wood selection does justice to the characteristics of every barrel and the maturing wines too. American oaks come from the Ozark Mountains in Missouri which distinguish themselves thanks to her thin layers of earth, by a slow growth with fine pores.

Stave selection: every stave is valued individually after its pores, so that only fine pored wood is selected

Drying: all French wood is in a big saw work in the Vosges Mountains open-air dried. Whereas American wood is dried in Missouri, before it is shipped to Bordeaux. With rough winters and warm summers these regions are optimally suited for the depositing of wood. All staves are stored at least 24 months. Older wood is available on inquiry and storage.
